Description

The Zoo Med ReptiSun® 10.0 Mini is an excellent choice for all basking and desert reptiles! With a 10% UVB output, 30% UVA output, and full spectrum lighting, this compact fluorescent lamp provides maximum UVB penetration thanks to a special UVB transmitting quartz glass. These cool-burning bulbs can be screwed into standard threaded sockets without requiring a separate ballast. Whether vertically or horizontally oriented, this lamp is suitable for use in a reptile hood or clamp lamp fixture. The increased UVB emissions help to prevent or reverse metabolic bone disease while the UVA promotes natural behaviors such as feeding and mating. It's the perfect solution for Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixtures and Naturalistic Terrarium Hoods.

UVB is a vital wavelength that is naturally present in sunlight, and provides numerous benefits for nearly all reptiles. It is essential in maintaining the health and strength of your pet's bones, and contributes to various other vital functions

Instructions for Use:

To use the Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent, install it in a Zoo Med Naturalistic Terrarium Hood and position it over the basking area. This bulb is most effective for low-UVB reptiles in small arboreal (tall) terrariums at or under 18" tall or small terrestrial (wide) terrariums at or under 20" long.

It's important to note that compact fluorescent lamps have a "burn-in" period when their light and UVB output is at their highest. For the Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent, this period typically lasts around two weeks. Once the burn-in period has passed, you can move the lamp closer to the basking area. The product instructions provide guidance on recommended distances during and after the burn-in period.

To maintain optimal performance, replace the Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent every 12 months. For best results, use with a Zoo Med Digital UV Index Radiometer or Solarmeter 6.5.

Each reptile species has unique UVB requirements. It's important to research your specific species to determine the necessary UV index (UVI) in their basking area.
